I have been tracking my time for 4 years, and here is what I learned.
I have been tracking all my working/learning hours with a time tracker for almost 4 years. It was a strange experience at times, especially at the beginning, but in the end, it turned out to be a very valuable journey. By doing this, I am now able to compete with myself in terms of how much time I spend learning/working per day, as well as just understand better what tasks I do every day.
I exported all 4 years of time tracking from my time tracker and analyzed them. Here are my main findings:
- I have been trying to increase my working hours, but I stagnate between 180–200 hours per month.
- I played with how much time I sleep and found that 6.5 hours per day is optimal for me. After that, I was able to start working a little more than before
- My working time varied between 40% to 70% of the total tracked time per year, depending on what I was doing.
